- Experts develop weapons to Fight Food Poisoning

According to the Health Protection Agency OF England the the commonest cause of infectious bacterial intestinal disease is Campylobacter. They are found in poultry and other animals and cause millions of cases of food poisoning worldwide. So experts from University of Nottingham along with biotech company GangaGen Life Sciences Inc are developing new weapons in the fight against food poisoning. They intend to make bacteriophage-based treatments for the control of Campylobacter. Bacteriophages are agents that target and destroy bacteria with a high degree of efficiency, without affecting beneficial bacteria or gut cells. The food industry and its regulators have stated that they believe that timely intervention is needed at the farm level to supplement the extensive, but not fully effective, controls already in place in food processing. The combination of these two research teams provides strong impetus for creating a safe, effective and low-cost solution to this pernicious consumer health risk.

- Vitamin A Cream Reduces Wrinkles

As we start aging we start worrying about all those wrinkles which will appear on our skin. The wrinkles and brown spots associated with aging appear first and most prominently on skin exposed to the sun. Researchers have found out that applying vitamin A to the skin appears to improve the wrinkles associated with natural aging and may help to promote the production of skin-building compounds. On trail conducted on individuals it was proved that wrinkles, roughness and overall aging severity were all significantly reduced in the retinol-treated individuals as compared to the others without treatment. The skin biopsies revealed that the retinol increased the production of glycosaminoglycan and procollagen, structural components of the skin.

- Magnetic stimulation to boost mental performance
Scientists from US suggest that magnetic stimulation can help in re growth of brain cells. Researchers believe that the results may lead to treatments for Alzheimer's and also if proven the technique is more likely to be a way of slowing progression of the disease than a cure. Tran cranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) has been used to treat certain disorders, including depression and schizophrenia and to rehabilitate people after stroke. A magnetic coil is used to introduce electrical fields in the brain, which activates or deactivates groups of neurons.
