Taser shot averts fibrillation of mentally disturbed drug addict: We’ve always heard of tasers being harmful or in some cases even killing people, but could they have a positive effect on a patient’s body? This is what the story says- A 28 year old man who was tased after he hid from the police in lake for 40 minutes and then tried to escape when captured. The man’s body temperature had fallen to 89 degrees and his heart fell into atrial fibrillation (a condition where the upper chambers of the heart quiver rather than beat) owing to his long stay in the lake and the drugs (Cocaine and speed) found in his system. The patient’s heart had returned to its normal condition only when he was tased and the electrodes monitoring his condition were re-attached.

Toxic substance sprayed on leather sofas cause horrific burns to atleast 1000 people: The Chinese-made sofas sold by High Street chain Argos and Land of Leather caused horrific burns as the leather sofas was sprayed with a toxic substance to stop them going mouldy. The chairs had been treated with a fungicide to stop them going mouldy in storage. But the substance caused violent irritant-related eczema in some customers. Customers were informed that not everyone who bought a sofa would suffer a reaction but the number was high enough to call it a 'widespread' outbreak.
