- Researchers to develop a Cancer-fighting Beer
Cancer seems to be the most insurmountable predicament of today’s times, as it was about 10 years back. Although there is no perfect cure for the disease, there are certain agents that help reduce the risk of Cancer or impede it’s effects. Recently, a group of young researchers consisting of six under grads from Rice University is working on genetically budding in resveratrol, which is a antibiotic that is a natural component of Grapes, into the ingredients that make up Beer. The Cancer-fighting and anti-ageing properties that Red Wine gets are through the presence of Resveratrol. The team believes that producing Beer with higher and more consistent concentrations of Resveratrol will create a frosty adult beverage with even better preventive powers. Fighting Cancer is a good thing, but it’s time they start looking into preventive agents for other day-to-day medical problems that people complain of.

- Virtual heart stamps out the need for incisions to teach Med students
With the recent advances in computer software and hardware, Medical students these days are getting access to more technology and knowledge as against those who studied about a decade back. The hottest medical development is the virtual heart, that will allow students to see exactly how the real thing operates from the interior as well as exterior, without having to make a single cut. The software that runs on the same hardware as your average gaming PC is used for the running of the simulation. The idea was conceived by three London doctors at the University college London Hospitals heart hospital and the animation part was developed by UK animation house Glassworks, which is also popular for variety of works.

- Three cups of coffee to shrink your breast
A new study shows that drinking three cups of coffee a day may shrink a woman's breasts. Scientists say that estrogen is affected by coffee because a woman's metabolism can be changed by some substances in coffee, thereby lowering the risk. Scientist say that coffee-drinking women do not have to worry their breasts will shrink to nothing overnight. They will get smaller, but the breasts will not just disappear. It's not all bad news for women however as the researchers also found that regular hits of caffeine can help to cut the risk of developing breast cancer. Scientists studied around 300 women, asking them about their breast measurements and how many cups of coffee they drink per day.
