USB Blood Pressure Monitors from Brando
Blood_Pressure_Monitors_1.jpg Since problems related to abnormal blood pressure are on a rise, it has become necessary to keep a regular check on it. And folks who are already a victim of low or high blood pressure need to monitor the rise and fall more than often. For such times Brando has come up with two user-friendly monitors. The USB Arm Blood Pressure Monitor ($69) allows the user to measure the diastolic, systolic, and pulse rate by simply wrapping the cuff around the arm. Readings can be stored and monitored on your computer via USB. While the USB Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor ($57) is ideal for folks on the go. This handy, portable version sports the same spec as the arm monitor but doesn't look like a medical gadget.

Huggable Robot Teddy cures with touch therapy
Huggable Robot_Teddy.jpg We all have hugged a teddy some time in our lives to overcome the blues. But MIT's Huggable Robot Teddy is unlike the plain soft toy teddy that most of us have in our closets. This cuddly interactive robotic teddy bear toy is tweaked to be termed as Therapeutic Toy in true sense. The bear is lined with over 1500 sensors for direct data transmission, has cameras for eyes, a microphone field in the ears, and has an internal wireless PC. The ear mics give the robot 'sound localization' so it can directly interact with people in space. The visual context from the cameras is even more impressive. Since touch therapy is effective for sick patients, MIT's Huggable Robot Teddy will soon find its place under the category of medical gadgets and not only toys.
