FATS shoes to inspire the fat kids

Well, these shoes are specially designed for obese children as a reminder that the more they work out, the better colour shoes they have. FATS (Fitness Achievement Technology System) shoes are created by students from the Utrecht School of Arts in the Netherlands. The shoes are featured with motion sensor integrated into the shoe's heel that, along with glass fibre yarn woven on the outside, reflects the light from LEDs.

However, what I fail to understand is that are these shoes really motivation enough for the kids to workout. I mean wouldn't prefer being rewarded with a twinkie or more video game time for exercising?
