Obama's appoints CNN's doctor as surgeon general

sanjay_gupta.jpg Barack Obama has set the trend by being elected as the first African-American President. And now he moves ahead with his non-racist ideas by inviting neurosurgeon Sanjay Gupta on to his team. If this high-profile deal works out, then Gupta could be the highest-profile surgeon general in history and would have an expanded role in providing health policy advice too. His job will include overseeing the 6,000-member Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service. Also his talking skills will be put to test as he will have to travel all over the country to propagate public health agendas.

More recognized for his stint with CNN, this doc is also seen on CBS and pens down work for Time Magazine. Besides being a neurosurgeon at Emory and associate chief of the neurosurgery service at Atlanta's Grady Memorial Hospital, the guy has also been a fellow and a special adviser to then first lady, Hillary Clinton.
