Toddlers playing with building blocks helps to start talking

Untitled-2.jpgA recent study suggested DVDs and videos developed to help babies learn to talk may actually slow them down instead toddlers who played with the blocks began to speak more quickly. The key to helping your baby learn to talk could be as simple as a set of building blocks. After conducting research on 175 children aged between 18 months and two and a half, in which half were given the blocks to take home for six months, while the rest continued to play with their favorite toys the researchers came to the conclusion that playing with blocks stimulates a child's imagination and encourages them to spend less time watching TV.

Toddlers who played with the brightly-coloured plastic blocks began to speak more quickly than others, a study found.
