For all you diabetic patient who are fed up with their test kits and finger pricking to test blood, can in few years get rid of them as Charmr a new concept device that combines an insulin pump and monitor into one in an effort to give those with diabetes with a much more modern look an added functionality in delivery of treatment. The new design is not only very cool and sleek but also more discreet than older style, box-like pumps. The patient can attach a small stick like device around his neck that would act as a monitor and control for the pump. The device would communicate wirelessly with the pump and be totally waterproof and suitable for exercise. The control would also act as a means to select the insulin dosage using a sequence of easy to follow screens and even recommends the dosage needed. This slimline design which resembles an MP3 could be used by the user to check their blood glucose levels anywhere and administer a dosage of insulin without drawing attention to themselves.

However, designers of the Charmr feel it is still at the starting point and have to make our best professional judgement as to what would be reasonably available in several years time.
