Dental practice robot helps students treat the patients in the gentlest way possible

Dental_training_robot_1.jpg Japan's latest invention is dental training robot that can 'feel pain' and alert the dentistry students if it is uncomfortable. So, in future when your visit to the dentist would be less painful.The humanoid practice robot 'Simroid' a new creation by Japanese engineers resembles a petite Japanese woman. The Simroid's full set of white teeth are fitted with sensors and the robot will yelp when the dentist's equipment touches the virtual nerves.

The robot was on show last week at Japan's largest robotics convention in Tokyo and when a young dental student nudged her tools into the mouth of the Simroid and prompted an "Ow, that hurt" from the robot.
