Hi tech hospital use robot fleet for goods transport

robo-hos.jpgTo relieve the hospital porters for important task like transporting the patients, robots will be used to carry out the other arduous task. The robots will run along separate corridors and use magnetic strips or infra red to find their way around. This technology is been seen in Japan and France and is currently being used for the first time in new hospital being built at Larbert in UK. Robots in use at the hospital will be separated from patients, moving down an entirely different network of corridors. These corridors will be used to transport linen, waste and medical equipment.

The £300m hospital is expected to be completed by December 2009.
