Internet remote controlled Defibrillator launched first in Canada

defibrillator.jpg Heart-patient certainly need Defibrillation, a man from Midland gets his Therapeutic dose of electrical energy through a breakthrough defibrillator implanted that will take care of him via cyberspace. George, Woods, 73, got his electronic device implanted in an operation that took place at the New market based Southlake Regional Health Center. The device works just like other Defibrillators, only difference being the automatically self-testing technology, which allows easy monitoring of the patient’s condition, while he or she sits at the comfort of their homes.

Woods, who was born with a heart condition that caused him several heart attacks over the years, had his implant conducted in Mid-July, and is not required to drive to the hospital every now to get himself checked. The device apparently protects him from deadly cardiac arrest, alongside keeping him active all day long. The device costing $25,000 ($500 over the normal Defibrillators) has not been approved in the US as yet.
