- iPod boosts the quality of medical education and patient care
-
I have come across mixed reviews about the need of carrying a music player like iPod to middle or high schools in the recent past. But the latest one comes from Ohio's medical institute. It has dawned upon the authorities of College of Medicine of Ohio State University that Apple's incomparable iPod can be of a great help in the curriculum of medicine. They intend to use it to view videos of medical treatments and review images of the human body and organs. Such portable devices will also help the med students to show patients photographs to identify medications they're already taking before any new drugs are given. It will make it easier for medical students at to navigate classroom lectures and clinical duties with patients too.

All the students who are in high spirits with this move need to appreciate the third-year medical student Justin Harper efforts. He has been responsible for recognizing the potential in the iPod "touch" model which is as good as an Apple iPhone without the telephone features.
Over the next two years, each Ohio State medical student will receive a standard iPod touch, equipped with specific medical software programs planned by the OSU College of Medicine.
