iPod helps to keep the teen awake through the brain tumor surgery

ipod.jpg We have been harping about the medical benefits of iPod and here's one more reason to do the same. In an attempt to keep the patient conscious, London's neurosurgeon Andrew McEvoy hooked 18 year old Gavin Brooke to his favorite music via his iPod. This music therapy helped the surgeon to be sure of his brain's response during the surgery. Gavin had to be kept awake as the surgeons had to make sure they didn't damage anything while they were operating. Are you wondering what number was played during the six hour operation? The teen opted for rapper Timbaland's remix version of Apologize. Why this number? Well the Gavin wanted to apologize to the surgeons for putting them through it again as this was his second operation.
