Mygo interactive guiding system for the blind

Untitled-2.jpg
I’m sure even the blind must have got bored of carrying that dull white cane; no doubt it is their life line. But it would be nice to have a change- a cane that could replace a service dog. This change is brought by a German student Sebastian Ritzler who has created an interactive guiding system for the blind called Mygo that comes in the form of a cool, rolling white cane. The cane is supposed to be tough, height-adjustable for men and women, and waterproof. That’s not all about it. The cane is accompanied with a smart sensor system and camera combo that can measure the ground area accurately in real time and pushes auditory feedback to a headset. In addition, the mini wheel at the tip of the cane has a hub motor that provides intuitive feedback through the grip, doubling as a steering engine that can last about 6 hours on a lithium-ion battery.

This device which is more of a sightseeing partner has to still go for production and would be available for around 150 Euros (about $200).
