Addison a new born baby, daughter of Kari Whittington's went for a regular check up at doctor's office just to detect a two-pound tumour. An ultrasound detected this fast-growing, grapefruit-sized tumour. Surprisingly no abnormalities were detected in the previous ultrasound a month earlier. This 5 weeks premature baby had to be stabilised before a nine-person surgical team started working on her. Paediatric surgeon Dr. Steve Rothenberg along with the other doctors successfully removed a two-pound tumour from the back of a newborn's neck.

Doctors said the growth, called a cervical teratoma, are rare and occurs in about 1 in 50,000 births. The blood-swollen tissue and veins made up 40 percent of Addison's weight.
