Burlington, Vt - The healthiest city of America!

Burlingtonskyline.jpg Step up your IQ with another healthy fact. This time it’s not about any medical gadget or ailment, but about the city you reside in. A recent study stated that Burlington, Vt is the healthiest city in America! This city tops the list with a whopping 92% citizens claiming that they are in good or great health. It's also rated as the best in exercise and among the lowest in obesity, diabetes and other measures of ill health. And how did Burlington manage to reach that slot? A number of reasons are cited that can be read after the jump.

Bicycling, hiking, skiing and other exercises are common in Burlington. Also according to the Census Bureau, this city has more young residents, with an average age of 37. Money also matters, with only 8 percent living at the federal poverty level. And not to forget the education factor, with nearly 40 percent of area residents having at least a college bachelor's degree.
The city also succumbs to the presence of IBM and other employers that offer generous health benefits and corporate wellness programs to boost healthiness.
